History Wall
Role: art direction and design / Skills: environmental design
The Midwest Transplant Network wanted to capture the national and local history of organ donation at their headquarters in Westwood, KS. They needed a flexible wall system that could display fresh content, accommodate ongoing medical advances, and highlight the rich history of transplantation. My solution was to use permanent graphics for legacy content and interchangeable plates for updates. We also collaborated with Thomas Design Build to create custom cases for housing legacy touchpoints, with wall graphics produced by Midtown Signs. This innovative display showcases the evolution of organ donation while incorporating the latest advancements.
Noticeable from a distance, the purple ribbon flows through each themed frame. The ribbon, inspired by the company's logo, represents the connection between donor and recipient.
Two shadow boxes are dedicated to the Donors and Recipients sections, making them a focal point of the wall's design. Each box was designed to house handwritten letters of donor family and recipient correspondence, encouraging onlookers to take time to read the unique and heartfelt messages.
